Fall protection: IBC SOLAR partners with Preising

Unique partnership combines experienced experts in system know-how and safety for the maintenance of PV systems on flat roofs.

Kierspe / Bad Staffelstein, 14. March 2019 – IBC SOLAR AG, a global leader in photovoltaic (PV) systems and energy storage, is now partnering with Preising GmbH & Co. KG. This collaboration allows both companies to specifically address the needs and requirements of international markets and offer their customers a unique safety system for the maintenance of PV systems on the flat roof. The plan for a collaboration between both companies was created back in 2016. The first country where the product will be launched is Switzerland.

Safety on roofs is a major issue throughout Europe. There are different regulations and guidelines that cause a lot of uncertainty. Preising and IBC SOLAR are now offering a perfectly coordinated safety system in the form of a fall protection device, the AeroFix Latch. The integrated fall system was successfully approved by DEKRA and thus meets all requirements of the European PSA regulation (EU) 2016/425. Specially developed for flat roofs, the fall protection device is connected directly to the PV modules. The cost-effective and practical solution does not require any additional construction measures, and this means the roof is not affected. IBC SOLAR holds specific training courses for its Premium Partners for the installation of the fall protection device. Retrofitting of existing systems is possible.

“With our 60 years of company history, we at Preising are an experienced provider in the field of fall protection. In combination with the specialised expertise of IBC SOLAR, we have succeeded in combining efficient renewable energy generation with the highest standards in occupational safety. This corresponds to the requirements of responsible system operators who want to realise their social and environmental commitment to the same extent. Aside from environmentally friendly energy generation, safe maintenance of the system is also possible,” explains Philipp Koßmann, safety engineer at Preising GmbH und Co. KG.

Britta Beier, Director Supply Chain Management at IBC SOLAR, adds: “The safety and satisfaction of our customers is our top priority.  With the AeroFix Latch fall protection system, we are responding specifically to the needs of our customers and the requirements of the markets. The quality requirements of the companies Preising and IBC SOLAR are a perfect match.”

The Preising fall protection device can only be used in combination with the IBC AeroFix mounting systems and is distributed exclusively by IBC SOLAR and its more than 1,000 Premium Partners worldwide. The system is approved throughout Europe and will initially be launched exclusively in countries where there is an increased demand for innovative solutions for the installation of PV systems on flat roofs. Switzerland will be the first country followed by Norway and Sweden.
