Bad Staffelstein / Germany, October 8, 2026 – IBC SOLAR, a leading provider of photovoltaic solutions with a focus on wholesale distribution, proprietary product and system solutions, and international project business, is expanding its presence in the Adria region with a new location in Croatia. Focusing on the residential and commercial segments, the company will support installers across the region with PV and energy solutions as well as technical services. The new regional presence is headed by Mateo Markoč, Country Manager Croatia / Adria Region. IBC SOLAR will present its offering at the Green Energy Fair in Zagreb on October 28 and 29, where the company will be the main sponsor.
The solar market across the Balkan region is set for significant growth. According to Wood Mackenzie, around 25 GW of new solar PV capacity is expected to be added between 2025 and 2034, with cumulative capacity forecast to increase sixfold by 2034. Croatia is set to play a leading role in this development, accounting for 25 percent of regional installations, while distributed solar is forecast to represent around half of all new capacity across the region. IBC SOLAR sees this growth as an opportunity to strengthen its business across the Adria region.
More than distribution
IBC SOLAR’s approach goes beyond the supply of individual components. Its portfolio includes modules, inverters, storage solutions and mounting systems from established manufacturers as well as proprietary IBC SOLAR products, complemented by planning, technical consulting and system design.
Founded in Germany in 1982, IBC SOLAR brings more than four decades of experience in photovoltaics to the region. Its proprietary solutions include IBC AeroFix for flat roofs and IBC TopFix for pitched roofs, both of which will be presented at the Green Energy Fair.
“The Adria region is an important part of our activities in South East Europe. With our new local presence, we are creating the structures to develop the region more systematically while staying close to our partners and their requirements,” says Benjamin Schaible, Director Sales South East Europe at IBC SOLAR. “Our aim is to combine our international experience with strong local market expertise and build long-term partnerships with installers across the region.”
