Bad Staffelstein, October 1, 2025 – The leadership transition announced in May at IBC SOLAR AG has now been completed: Julius Möhrstedt today assumes the role of Chief Executive Officer at the internationally active full-service provider of solar energy solutions. The company operates in the areas of distribution and projects and also develops its own IBC SOLAR brand products.
He succeeds Dr. Dirk Haft, who played a key role in shaping the company in recent years and is now returning to the Supervisory Board as planned.
With this transition, responsibility for the family-owned company founded in 1982 passes to the next generation. Julius Möhrstedt, son of company founder Udo Möhrstedt, was most recently responsible for the Central Europe sales region and has worked closely with the executive board for several years. He represents a new generation of leadership in the solar industry – with a clear vision, entrepreneurial instinct, and deep roots within the company.
“It is a great honor for me to lead IBC SOLAR into a new era,” says Julius Möhrstedt. “Our goal remains clear: we want to continue growing, drive innovation, and actively contribute to the energy transition together with our partners.”
Dr. Dirk Haft took over as CEO in early 2024 and guided IBC SOLAR through a period of strategic development and high momentum in the solar industry. Prior to that, he had already served on the Supervisory Board.
“I am proud of what we have achieved together and grateful for the valuable collaboration within the company,” says Dr. Dirk Haft. “With Julius Möhrstedt, a strong successor from the founding family is taking over – someone who embodies the values of IBC SOLAR and sets clear impulses for the future. I look forward to continuing to support the company from a new perspective.”
This leadership change marks the return of the company’s top management to family hands and underscores a clear commitment to the long-term development of IBC SOLAR.
