Intersolar 2011: IBC SOLAR Presents Intelligent Solar Power Storage Solutions

Bad Staffelstein (Germany), April 13, 2011 – IBC SOLAR AG, a worldwide leading photovoltaic specialist, will show two power storage solutions for photovoltaic installations at this year’s Intersolar trade show in Munich from June 8 to 10. Owners of photovoltaic systems will be able to use a much larger percentage of the energy they are producing, even when the sun doesn’t shine. Furthermore, IBC SOLAR will inform visitors in Hall 6, Booth 301 about its large-scale projects and will present latest updates of the IBC SOLAR Premium Partner Portal, as well as recent developments in modules and inverters.

Using solar energy to produce electricity for your own personal use will be the overriding topic for IBC SOLAR at this year’s Intersolar. To this end, the photovoltaic specialist will introduce two power storage solutions: an innovative electro-chemical battery system based on lithium-ion-polymer technology and a storage system utilizing the proven lead-acid technology. The batteries included in both storage solutions are controlled by an intelligent load-management system, ensuring that electricity will be supplied to the own household first and only fed into the public grid once the power storage has been filled up for later use.

The advantages are significant: If more than 30 percent of the total electricity output is used directly in the household, a higher feed-in tariff will be granted according to the renewable-energy legislation. In addition, consumers will have to draw less conventionally-generated electricity from the public grid. “With our storage solutions up to 60 percent of the total energy output can be used directly “, explains Norbert Hahn, member of the board at IBC SOLAR AG. “Owners of PV systems can use their environmental-friendly electricity even at night or on cloudy days while at the same time dramatically reducing their electricity bill.”

Visitors of the Intersolar 2011 will get information about the complete portfolio of IBC SOLAR from June 8 to 10 in Hall 6, Booth 310.
