Internships and thesis work

Name: Mustafa Gökdag

Year: 2012

Course of Studies: Electrical and Electronics Engineering

University: University of Karabük, Turkey

My name is Mustafa Gökdag. I’m a research assistant in Electrical-Electronics Engineering Department of Karabük University in Turkey. There is a Renewable Energy Engineering Research and Application Center in our university. Our relationship with IBC SOLAR has started off with a solar test system of 1 kWp donated by IBC SOLAR in 2010. Our Research Center’s Director Prof. Erdil visited IBC SOLAR Germany at the end of 2011. Back then Prof. Erdil and Mr Möhrstedt (CEO of IBC SOLAR) agreed on giving 2 students the opportunity of coming to IBC SOLAR Germany for summer training.

From the first day on all employees greeted me with a friendly smile. After a presentation introducing IBC SOLAR, my colleagues showed me my desk, including a pc with all the software needed for what I was about to learn. Then I was given general information of designing a solar plant from A to Z. After an introduction period of one week, I assisted on developing the "Staats" project of 13 MWp. At the same time I examined old projects and learnt the detailed steps of designing a solar plant.

Furthermore I realized that IBC SOLAR is developing its process of establishing solar plants frequently. A special task for my colleague and me was developing a 500 kWp kit with central inverter for the Turkish market. We prepared a presentation of this project including Turkey’s regularities when it comes to realizing a solar plant.

During working in the technical department, I noticed a wonderful team work between my colleagues. All my questions were kindly replied by them.

I learnt that IBC SOLAR is a big international company with a high cooperation of headquarters, technical departments and commercial offices. IBC SOLAR also offers its employees very comfortable and finely designed offices.

Once again thanks to all IBC SOLAR family for your efforts. I hope we will keep in touch.
