IBC SOLAR cooperates with LG Chem

Lithium-ion storage solution will be presented at Intersolar 2012

Bad Staffelstein, June 12, 2012 – IBC SOLAR AG, a world leader specialized in photovoltaics, has signed a cooperation agreement with South Korean chemical company LG Chem and expands its portfolio of power storage systems with the lithium-ion storage solution IBC SolStore 6.3 Li. IBC SOLAR will present the new storage system and other product novelties at this year’s Intersolar trade fair in Munich/Germany from June 13 - 15 (hall B6, booth 410).

“In order to advance the energy revolution, we need power storage solutions that make solar energy available around the clock. Thus, system owners can become more self-sufficient and consume up to 60 percent of what their solar energy system produces,” says Norbert Hahn, member of the board at IBC SOLAR AG. He adds: “With the recent partnership, we can offer customers an even more powerful solution.”

Seokhwan Kwak, Director of Advanced BESS Department at LG Chem, Ltd., explains, “We have made tremendous progress, so that larger domestic storage solutions based on lithium-ion technology can be realized economically. Thus, the solution developed in cooperation with IBC SOLAR is ideal for implementation in private households.”

As part of the decentralized power concept, storage technologies are a key issue in the energy turnaround and therefore are also a main topic for IBC SOLAR AG at this year’s Intersolar trade fair, and for the year 2012.
