Since 1982 the family-owned and operated company offers complete solutions for power production from solar energy and covers the entire spectrum, from planning to the turnkey handover of photovoltaic installations.

IBC SOLAR has launched a new subsidiary in South Africa for Southern Africa. The scope of our local business activities is being an integrated solar systems and services provider, wholesale of PV components and operating through an installer network system.

For this demanding challenge we are looking for a Regional Sales Manager Johannesburg reporting to our General Management in Cape Town.

Main Duties

  • Selling PV-solutions in both residential and primarily commercial consumer markets
  • Factual and specialist advice including telephone and written customer assistance with existing customers
  • Acquisition and development of new customers in Gauteng and surrounding provinces and countries
  • Preparation and drawing up of offers using “PV Manager” software
  • Actively help with the existing customer loyalty process
  • Assists the development of a South African marketing strategy & implementation thereof
  • Responsible for contractual negotiations as well as the conclusion of contracts
  • Responsible for reaching sales and profit targets
  • Analyzing markets and competitors and derivation of sales promotions
  • Able to present PV products and solutions to customers, at events as well as trade fairs

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 3-5 years sales experience in a technical field
  • Knowledge and experience in the solar field is an advantage, in a high tech, construction, or energy company is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Outstanding skill set in the interaction with and servicing of customers, as well as the ability to present and negotiate therein
  • Excellent Afrikaans and English skills
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, customer facing environment
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and effectively multi-task daily and meet deadlines
  • Assertive, confident and clear communicator – via e-mail, phone and face-to-face
  • Highly proficient with desktop applications such as Adobe Acrobat Professional, MS Office, and Internet Explorer including an ability to learn new IT systems
  • Frequent travel within the region
  • Must have valid state driver’s license
